More drawings of the cluttered spaces in my home. More pen and ink drawings from around the house. When I have a hiatus from making art, I always get back at it by drawing. Specially, by making contour drawings. This is a device that helps me “see” better to make compositions for paintings. Cozy still life ink and watercolor sketch for the new year 🥳 A latergram of making some finishing touches before wiring the back to make it show ready. See the finished piece @monthavenarts on November 29th! Excited to announce my work will be featured in the group show @monthavenarts An Artful Christmas! Thanks to the folks that follow me on here. It is much appreciated! All works at the show will be for sale. The show starts on November 15th, with an artist reception on November 29th. Save the date 🎄 Playing around with my new field sketch box. It doesn’t really lend itself to larger sketchbook pages, but I’m looking forward to continue to experiment with different paper and subjects. A bit of sparkle ✨ makes everything better 🌹 Revisited my figure drawing roots this weekend. These were fun sketches consisting of general charcoal studies from imagination of the figure and quick drawings from photographs. My favorite is the side profile of Elizabeth Taylor from the Canned Film Festival in 1957. Found this while cleaning through some drawing paper today. I had been looking for it awhile to put in my shop. I will be adding it soon. This piece was when I was really into abstract landscape at the beginning of last year. It’s amazing how styles and influences change over a period of time.
